The Mindfulness Colouring Book (Emma Farrarons, Boxtree) has unseated Go Set a Watchman (Harper Lee, William Heinemann) to reclaim top spot on the bestsellers chart, as Watchman drops to second spot in its third week of release. Three new fiction releases have debuted in the top 10, with this week’s highest new entryCountry (Danielle Steel, Bantam) sitting in seventh spot, Speaking in Bones (Kathy Reichs, William Heinemann) in eighth andPrivate Sydney (James Patterson & Kathryn Fox, Century) in 10th. Rounding out the five highest new entries are Peter Robinson’s reissued 1994 crime novel No Cure for Love (Hodder & Stoughton), available in Australia for the first time, and James Halliday Wine Companion 2016 (James Halliday, Hardie Grant). This week’s fastest movers chart sees four out of the top five spots occupied by colouring books, with Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom (Batsford) in top spot. Colouring books have taken over this week’s charts, with seven of the top 10 spots occupied by colouring titles, the largest number so far this year. The three non-colouring titles in the top 10 are Go Set a Watchman (Harper Lee, William Heinemann), which is at number one for a second week; Grey (E L James, Arrow), which drops to fourth spot this week; and Alert (James Patterson, Century). All five titles in the fastest movers chart are also colouring books, with Millie Marotta’s Tropical Wonderland(Millie Marotta, Batsford) in top spot. Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman (William Heinemann) was the top-selling book in Australia in the week ending 17 July, landing in the number one spot on both the top 10 bestsellers chart and highest new entries chart in its first week of release. The impact of the release can also be seen in the fastest movers chart, where two editions of Lee’s 1960 classic To Kill a Mockingbird—the Vintage Classics paperback and William Heinemann hardback—have climbed to second and fourth spots respectively, behind last week’s highest new entry The Little Book of Calm Colouring(David Sinden & Victoria Kay, Macmillan) in top spot. Go Set aWatchman was not the only new release to make it into the top 10 this week, with Alert (James Patterson, Century) debuting in eighth spot.
